The County Of Los Angeles (county) Department Of Public Health (public Health) Recognizes The Crucial Role Schools Can Play In Fostering Health Education And Skill Development That Empowers Youth, Creating Healthy And Safe Spaces, Providing Access To Health-related Goods And Services, And Developing And Implementing Policies To Support A Healthy School Community. Public Health Will Introduce The Healthy Schools Los Angeles County (lac) Project To Support Schools And Build The Capacity Of Education Partners To Incorporate Public Health Strategies And Improve Students’ Connectedness. The Healthy Schools Lac Project Will Allow Public Health, Education Agencies, Community, And Government Partners To Collectively Support Student Health, Well-being, And Academic Achievement. The Healthy Schools Lac Project Will Use A Multi-tiered Approach Involving Broad Strategies At The School District Level And Programs Tailored To Individual School Communities, Including Health Schools Partnerships And The Healthy Schools Advocate Program. The Selected Contractor Will Execute Subcontractor Agreements With Local Education Agencies Selected For The Healthy Schools Partnerships And/or Healthy Schools Advocate Program (henceforth Referred To As “subcontractors”), Facilitate The Execution Of Memorandums Of Understanding (mous) Between Public Health And The Local Education Agency, And Manage The Disbursement Of Funds To Subcontractors. Additionally, Contractor Will Disburse And Track Stipends To Healthy Schools Advocate Program Participants. Public Health Is Issuing An Invitation For Bids (ifb) To Solicit Bids From Qualified Contractors For A Contract For The Provision Of Healthy Schools (lac) Project Services In Los Angeles County.
