Dcrs Annually Perform Approx. 300 Sar Operations And Approx. 600 Other Operations Within The Danish Search And Rescue Region (srr) From 21 Lifeboat Stations. The Dcrs Has 12 Active All-weather Lifeboats, Where Five Of Them Are Situated On The West Coast Of Denmark By The North Sea. Seven Of The Vessels Will Be Stationed In Kattegat And The Baltic Sea. The Current All-weather Lifeboats Have Reached Their End-of-life And They Need To Be Replaced By New And Modern Vessels. These Must Be Capable Of And Suited To Current And Future Sar Operations Within Their Area Of Responsibility. Since The Commissioning Of The Current All-weather Lifeboats, The Sar Operations Have Evolved And Have Become Much More Time Critical, Often Involving Small Pleasure Craft, Kayaks, Paddle Boarders Or Leisure Fishing Boats In Need Of Assistance. In Addition, The Complexity Of The Operations Has Also Increased. This Development Has Required Faster Rescue Vessels Being Able To Conduct Search And Rescue Operations More Independently And Possibly In A Coordinating Role For The Entire Operation On Behalf Of The Mrcc. Dalo Is Tasked To Deliver The New Vessels Called Drv To The Dcrs.the Drv´s Shall Operate In Kattegat And The Baltic Sea Under All Weather Conditions. The Rescue Vessels Will Have To Meet The Following Requirements: •excellent Seakeeping Capabilities Up To Sea State 7 (douglas Sea Scale). •approx. 20 Meters Long And Have A Rated Top Speed Of Minimum 35 Knots. •inherently Self-righting Even With A Damaged Wheelhouse. •a Good Damage Stability With Several Compartments Flooded. Superior Maneuverability And Platform Stability Are Also Important Factors. Dalo Will, In The Process Of The Acquisition, Have Focus On Crew Safety And A Good Working Environment On Board As Well As On Operational Performance Of The Vessels. The Vessels Will Be Subject To Strict Political Requirements Regarding “up” Time, In The Sense That Each Vessel Shall Be Out For Maintenance In Less Than 17 Days/year In Average. This Underlines The Importance Of The Vessels Being Maintainable And Reliable. The Drv’s Will Have To Perform A Variety Of Operational Tasks Including: •search And Rescue (sar). •on Scene Coordinator (osc). •towing Operations. •off Shore Evacuation. Dalo Is Expecting To Base The Vessels On A Proven Hull Design That Can Be Adapted To Specs. Dalo Expects An Estimated Delivery Of All Seven Vessels Between 2025 And 2027..
