Tenders are invited for Replace Shingle Roofing on Public Works Garage Scope of work: The City of Danville is soliciting proposals by licensed building/roofing contractors to remove and replace approximately 11,520sf of roof shingle on Public Works Garage, 998 South Boston Rd. Contractor is to provide all permits, labor, materials and equipment needed to perform work. Work includes but not limited to: Removal of old and installation of shingles and all associated underlayment and flashings. All work is to comply with current Virginia Statewide Building Code, manufacturer’s installations instructions. A. Work included in This Section but not limited to the principal items include, except as hereinafter specifically excluded: 1. Remove existing roof shingles, underlayment to roof deck, drip edge, step and curb flashing, static vent stacks, heater and plumbing vent collars. Static and heater vents are to be reinstalled if usable. 2. Replace deteriorated 1 x 4 roof decking (Up to 100sf) Additional decking will be priced on alternate line item. (Repair areas shall be same dimensions as existing). 3. Install ice dam material 36 up roof edge. 4. Install new 30lb roof underlayment. 5. Install new flashing at valleys, drip edge, step flashing on parapets, chimney, curb flashing and all other penetrations. 6. Install new 3 tab (25 year warranty), white shingles with ridge vent. 7. Install new 6 roof edge white gutters and downspouts. 8. Alternate bid item: There will be an alternate bide item to install white screw down metal roof covering and associated flashings. All other provisions of specification will remain the same Eligibility Criteria : Contractors may be required to submit evidence that they have practical knowledge of the particular work bid upon and that they have the financial resources to complete the proposed work. Failure on the part of any contractor to carry out previous contracts satisfactorily, or lack of experience or equipment necessary for the satisfactory and timely completion of this Project, may be deemed sufficient cause for disqualification of said contractor. The contractor must readily and independently document that the contractor possesses the experience, equipment and financial resources necessary for a timely and professional completion of this project. Irregular Quotes: Quotes shall be considered irregular for the following reasons: • If the Quotes is on a form other than that furnished by the City, if the City’s form is altered, or if any part of the proposal form is detached. • If there are unauthorized additions, conditional or alternate pay items, or irregularities of any kind
