The required prior work experience for the bidder varies based on the cost of the works. For works costing between Rs. 10 Crore up to Rs. 50 Crore, a Graduate Engineer with a minimum of 3 years experience in Highway construction for Road Projects or minimum 3 years experience in bridge construction for Bridge Construction Projects is required. Alternatively, a Diploma engineer with a minimum of 6 years experience in Highway construction for Road Projects or minimum 6 years experience in bridge construction for Bridge Construction Projects can also be considered. For works costing between Rs. 50 Lakh to 1000 Lakh, a Degree holder in Engineering from a Govt recognised Institution or equivalent with at least 4 years practical experience of works is required. For works costing between Rs. 7.5 Lakh to 50 Lakh, a Degree holder in Engineering from a Govt recognised Institution or equivalent with at least 2 years practical experience of works is required. For works costing below Rs. 7.5 Lakh, a Diploma holder in Engineering from a Govt recognised Institution with adequate practical experience of works is required. The bidder should have successfully completed or substantially completed with any Govt agencies/PSU/Municipal Corporation/local Govt bodies one PSC Box Girder Type Bridge/PSC Balanced Cantilever Bridge/PSC Cable Stayed Bridge/Extra Dose Bridge, in the last 7 years and the current financial year. The span of this bridge should be equal to or greater than 80% of the longest span of the bridge proposed in the project or 100m, whichever is less. The cost of such a similar project should be at least 25% of the estimated project cost. A project is considered substantially completed if more than 90% of the value of work has been completed. The value of similar work completed should be at least 25% of the estimated project cost, and the percentage of completion should be more than 90%. The bidder should also have working capital and/or credit facilities of at least 10% of the estimated cost of the work. The bidder needs to list works (completed) in the last seven years, along with year-wise annual turnover of all civil engineering works for the last five years from a chartered accountant, and ongoing works as per the specified format to prove eligibility. However, specific details on the value and percentage of similar works completed are not mentioned for tenders enlisted with BRO in eligible 'class ' & above for works with estimated cost up to 25 crores, where the criteria of capabilities is exempted.
