Maintaining The Safety Of The Public And The Council’s Staff Is A Key Consideration In Delivering These Works. Often These Works Require No Provision Of Thermoplastic Road Markings. However, Some Of The Works Require Replacement/renewal/removal Of Thermoplastic Road Markings That Require Equipment Not Held By The Council. In These Circumstances, External Contractors Are Procured To Carry Out These Works. Some Of This Work Will Be Regular, Planned, Routine And Other Work Will Be Part Of Larger Schemes. Works Should Normally Be Carried Out Within 10 Working Days Of Receipt Of The Instruction From The Council’s Clients Representative, Or His Authorised Officer. However, There Will Be A Requirement To Provide Thermoplastic Road Markings Within A Reduced Timescale. The Majority Of The Work Required Will Take Place On Highway Authority Roads With Speed Limits Up To 50mph; However Contractors Shall Be Competent To Work On High Speed Roads Up To 70mph When Required.
