Expression of Interest: Consultant for Management Coordinator The covid-19 pandemic infected 27 million populations globally (in 213 countries /regions) resulting above 880,994 deaths by 7 september 2020 and has the potential to infect up to 70 percent of the worlds population. By this date, 298,903 people have been confirmed positive in pakistan, resulting in 6,345 deaths. In the arrival of this global pandemic and public health emergency related to covid-19 outbreak in pakistan, adb through national disaster risk management fund (ndrmf), asia pacific disaster risk fund (apdrf) grant and technical assistance to the ministry of health and national disaster management authority (ndma) support the response in the areas of infection prevention and control (ipc) and preparedness for emergency response. A $ 50 million grant agreement for covid response has been executed by adb with the support from ndrmf with ndma. Another $ 5. 7 million grant has been initiated through various financing channels in adb. Adb is also utilizing its technical assistance for immediate support to develop capacities surge training. Adb has also committed for emergency assistance loan of about $ 105 million in the health sector for covid19. Adbs support will help the government in meetings its immediate financial, logistical, and other needs that are essential to deliver appropriate medical services where required. The technical support offered by adb to the government of pakistan will strengthen the coordination at the national command and control center (ncoc). Recognizing the unpredictable nature of the situation, flexibility is assumed in the design of any support along with close coordination with various sources and partners providing support. The ta will support the ncoc within a multi-layered role to track activities, support coordination with the donors and country programs teams working on covid19, facilitates meetings and events, provides calendaring support, and communicates assigned follow up duties. The management coordinator will be responsible for ensuring a high level of communication while balancing multiple priorities, leading to effective inter-project knowledge sharing. Scope of Work: The successful candidate will support the covid 19 response in coordination with donors, development partners, federal ministry of national health services, regulation and coordination as well as the provincial departments of health. This includes facilitation in knowledge management of decision making, especially in the areas of tracking covid19 disease response, documentation and reporting on national commodity procurement and logistics; systems strengthening to support in-country supply chain management; and collaboration via strategic engagement to improve long-term supply of health commodities.
