The required prior work experience for the bidder includes having experience in civil engineering construction works, with a total annual volume of civil engineering construction work executed and payments received in the last five years preceding the year in which bids are invited. The bidder should also have work experience as a prime contractor on construction works of a similar nature and volume over the last five years. The value and percentage of similar works completed are specified as at least one similar work equal to 75% in value or two similar works equal to 40% in value of the estimated cost of work. The bidder should have satisfactorily completed these works as a prime contractor. Additionally, the bidder should have achieved a minimum financial turnover of at least the amount equal to the estimated cost of works (excluding maintenance) cost for three years for which bid has been invited, with an index rate of 8 percent for a year. The bidder is also required to have evidence of ownership of major items of construction equipment or evidence of arrangement of possessing them on hire/lease/buying. The bidder must provide an undertaking that they will be able to invest a minimum of cash up to a certain percentage of the contract price of works during the implementation of the works, and have access to a line of credit and availability of other financial resources/facilities (10 percent of the contract value) certified by a banker.
