FIRE FIGHTING SYSTEM UPGRADE FOR CORE STORE IN DUKHAN-Background The Core Store facility in Dukhan is a national repository asset for the State of Qatar and as such is a strategic asset for Qatar. Cores from drilling operations, since 1935 are located in this facility with each core representing millions of riyals worth of investment. A recent Fire & Safety Risk Assessment conducted for the Core Store facility has recommended to upgrade the existing fire detection and alarm system and to install high expansion foam fire suppression system within the core storage area. The existing firewater network within the core store facility is not adequate to meet the proposed firefighting system water demand. Therefore, a new firewater pipeline is required from the existing QPSFA firewater pumping station to the core store facility. The QPSFA firewater system includes a firewater tank, firewater pumps, fire water line , ring mains and fire hydrants. During the system maintenance; there is no alternate supply of firewater, and is required to upgrade the existing firewater storage and pumping facility. 2. SCOPE OF WORK/SERVICES 2.1 The Scope of Work/Services pertains to Upgrade/modification of the existing fire detection system in the core storage area, including the roof ventilation system, electrical systems, instrumentation/SCADA system and install the high expansion foam system for the fire protection. 2.2 Upgrade of the existing firewater system for the QPSFA including the installation of firewater tank, firewater pumps, piping connections within the firewater pumping station, extension of pumping station and a pipeline from the pumping station to the Core Store facility. 2.3 Construction of forklift parking shed adjacent to core store and forklift access route to Core store The detailed Scope of Work/Services and deliverables
