GB-Edinburgh: Award of Contract for Maintenance and Redecoration of Auskerry Lighthouse-Auskerry Lighthouse is situated on the small Island of the same name to north west of mainland Orkney. Built in 1866 by David and Thomas Stevenson, the light has a single white flashing character every 20 seconds giving a nautical range of 18 miles. The lighthouse tower, which is 34 meters high, is adjoined to a privately owned dwelling. A masonry wall surrounds the perimeter of the lighthouse station.
