Item No. 10: Providing and fixing in position single strip seal expansion joints catering to horizontal movement upto 80 mm. The expansion joints shall contain single cell assembly comprising of edge beams, poly chloroprene seal, anchorage elements, support and control system, all steel sections protected against corrosion, welded with suitable anchoring arrangement as per MORTH/manufacturer’s specifications and approved design and drawing. Poly chloroprene seal shall be a preformed/extruded single strip of such a shape as to promote self- removal of foreign material during normal joint operation. All complete as per direction of Engineer-in-Charge.
Note: (i) cost of design and drawing shall also be borne by the contractor for expansion joints and temporary arrangement for covering gap of expansion joint. (ii) The item includes the cost of providing and welding additional reinforcement steel where required and cost of shuttering, thermo cool etc.
(iii) Dismantling of existing damaged joints and concreting shall be paid separately.
(iv) Expansion joint shall be provided with a warranty of trouble free maintenance of 15 years

Item No. 14: Providing and applying of anticorrosive treatment to exposed structural reinforcement by two coats of IPNET RB or equivalent application with time interval of minimum 8 -10 hours between each coat after application of two coats of alkaline rust converting primer confirming to ASTM-B-117. The application shall be done by brush or spray after cleaning existing reinforcement with wire/ rotary wire brush to make the surfaces free from loose material, dirt etc. inclusive of all labour, materials, equipment etc. complete as per specifications and instructions of Engineer in Charge. Item No. 15: Providing and painting with approved quality two or more coats of anti-carbonation paint, single component, flexible, elastomeric coating based on acrylic co-polymer coating and compatible primer coat as per manufacturer’s specifications and the direction of Engineer-in-Charge over un-plastered concrete surface of piers and superstructures after cleaning and removing dirt, dust, oil, grease, efflorescence to obtain an even surface and applying paint @0.44 kg per sqm and primer @ 0.22 kg per sqm, total dry film thickness (DFT) of the coating shall not be less than 150 microns including all scaffolding, testing of materials etc necessary tools, plants, machinery with all leads, lifts and depths and all related operations as required to complete the work as per drawings, specifications and directions of Engineer- in-Charge.
Note:- The work shall be carried out only through approved applicator of manufacturer. The manufacturer/ applicator shall provide a guarantee of satisfactory performance of anti carbonation coating for 5 years through contractor.
