INSITU REPAIR OF BUTTRESS THREAD OF SPARE HEADSHAFT OF PRIMARY GYRATORY CRUSHER (MODEL KKD1500B) AT CRUSHING PLANT DEP/05. THE WORK ENTAILS FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES: • Shifting of Turning Machine at site (crushing plant dep-05) for repairs. & mounting, alignment of Turning Machine on the Mantle Shaft. • Removal of damaged portion by machining & preparation of a surface. DP Test to make sure there are no more cracks/weak portions of damaged threads and is entirely free from cracks. • Subsequently gradual build-up using suitable machine able electrode(electrodes are to be supplied by vendor only) such as Advani Oerlikon’s E106, ESAB’s Durocrome or similar electrodes that are suitable for cast steel and carbon steel and best suited for welds free from hot fissures and cracks. • New Thread cutting Using cutting tools on the welded and turned portion of shaft, such that the lead together with Pitch matches with that of undamaged threads on either side, resulting in formation of continuous BUTTRESS THREAD & MATING Suspension Nut should mount smoothly over repaired thread. • Finishing of thread to achieve the original profile and shape of old good threads, thus ensuring smooth fitment. • Machining of The key-way slot after build-up to ensure proper fitment of Gib Key. • Smooth fitment/mounting of compatible suspension Nut in the repaired thread. • Any other associated work which is required to complete the subject work. 3. Special rod/electrode required shall be in the scope of vendor only. 4. The repaired buttress thread work shall be warrantied against any thread defect such as galling, scratches, burrs, pitting for 1 year/12 months. 5. Party needs to visit the site in order to get acquainted with the site condition & nature of work at their own cost.
