M&L for preparing of old black top surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc, sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surfaces by using mechanical means with using air blowers to remove all loose dirt,complete and applying two coat of Polymer Modified Emulsion (PME) with mineral filler as per manufacturer instruction and by using Spraying machine and technical description as per Note 'B'. For First coat with 0.6 ltrs undiluted PMEdiluted in 0.6 ltrs of water in 1:1 ratio and mineral filler as directed by manufacturer spraying machine having penetration value 10-20 mm initial setting time of 4-5 hours, but not more than 8 hours. First coat with 1.2 Ltrs of emulsion comprising of 0.6 Ltr (undiluted) PME diluted in 0.6 Ltr water, to be applied uniformally on each 1.0 Sqm area, mixed with mineral filler as recommended by manufacturer of PME and ensure uniform finish of PME on flexible surface means and using specially designed mopper for mopping the surface, and after drying of first coat as per manufacture instruction second coat with emulsion of 0.8 Ltrs comprising of 0.4Ltr (undiluted) PME diluted in 0.4 Ltr water to be applied uniformally on each 1.00 Sqm area after drying and setting of first coat.complete all as per manufacturer's instructions and direction of engr in charge complete all as specified. Notes: A The tenderer shall take into consideration for the following points while quoting his rate for this item and his quoted rates shall be deemed to be included the following:- (a) Using of PME Material having quick drying capacity and shall be provide atleast two spray trucks for application of PME at site. (b) Any Hampering/Stoppage of works due to ATC/Flight movement/any miscellenous reasons shall be borne by contractor and accordingly the works shall be stopped. No claim shall be made by contractor. (c) The work shall be carried out by authorized & qualified applicators of the manufacturer as approved by E in C. (d) Friction parameters shall be between 0.35 to 0.60 after application of PME. (e) Contractor will make necessary arrangements for procurement of Portable Skid Resistance Tester (PSTR) and carry out necessary testing as directed without any extra cost to the department. Skid resistance will be perform by the contractor without any extra cost at every 5000sqm (maximum) as directed by GE/Engr-in-charge.

(f) Two year warranty of material performance and application performance shall be obtained from the manufacturer of PME. Warranty will include the fact that structure will remain water tight and no further cracks will be formed, excluding damage caused by natural calamities. (g) Permeasbility test (ASTM D 2434) to be conducted on the surface prior and after to application of treatment. (h) A performance guarantee certificate for two years shall be submitted by the contractor to the GE on completion of work as specified. (j) Any number of trials patches of dimension 15mx15m at selected places for application of PME as directed by GE will be undetaken before commencement of treament. (k) Friction parameters, permeability parameters to ensure zero porosity, penetration of PME after application of both coats and micro and macro textures will be determined through relevant testing methods as directed by GE/Engr-in-Charge. (Qty. will be measured and paid under relevant items of first coat and second coat of PME. (l) Care shall be taken to fill gaps/cracks up to 3mm size with mineral filler as per manufacturer’s instructions. (m) Application of PME shall be done under the supervision of manufacturer's technical experts.
