The bidder is required to have prior work experience in civil engineering construction works. The required experience includes a minimum annual financial turnover, completion of similar nature of work as a prime contractor, and quantities of work executed as a prime contractor in the last five years. The minimum annual financial turnover required is 60% of the DNIT value up to Rs. 200 Lakh and 75% of the DNIT value for more than Rs. 200 Lakh, in any one year. The bidder should have also satisfactorily completed, as a prime contractor, at least one similar work of value not less than 1/3 (one third) of the DNIT value, with a completion percentage of not less than 90%. The value and percentage of similar works completed are: - 1/3 (one third) of the DNIT value, which translates to approximately 33.33% of the contract value. - 25% of the DNIT in any one year, with a weightage of 10% per year for completed works in previous years. - The contract value for similar nature of work completed as a prime contractor. Additionally, the bidder should have executed in any one year, the minimum quantities of the major items of work, usually not less than 40% of the estimated quantity. The bidder should also provide details of works underway or contractually committed, and clients who may be contacted for further information on those contracts. The bidder should have experience in works of a similar nature and size for each of the last five years, and provide a total monetary value of civil construction work performed for each of the last five years. The bidder should also provide a certificate of executed quantities of work done in any one year of the last 5 (five) years, issued by the authorized Engineer in-charge. The bidder should have an undertaking for investment of minimum cash up to 25% of the value of the work during implementation of the contract, and provide evidence of access to or availability of credit facilities (minimum 10% of notified contract value) certified by the bankers. For unemployed Graduate/Diploma Engineers, the relaxation in qualification criteria includes a minimum annual financial turnover of 25% of the DNIT in any one year, with a weightage of 10% per year for completed works in previous years, and exemption from single similar nature of work performed as a prime contractor.
