The required prior work experience for the bidder includes having achieved a minimum annual financial turnover of 67% of the DNIT value in any one year. They should have also satisfactorily completed at least one similar work of value not less than 1/3 of the DNIT value, with a completion rate of not less than 90% of the contract value. Additionally, the bidder should have executed in any one year, the minimum quantities of the major items of work, usually not less than 40% of the estimated quantity. The bidder should have experience in works of a similar nature and size for each of the last five years, and details of works underway or contractually committed. They should provide information on the total monetary value of civil construction work performed for each of the last five years, and experience in works of a similar nature and size, including clients who may be contacted for further information on those contracts. There are relaxations in qualification criteria for unemployed Graduate/Diploma Engineers, which include exemption from single similar nature of work performed as prime contractor, and relaxation in minimum annual financial turnover to 25% of the DNIT in any one year. The value of similar work should be at least 1/3rd of the respective value of work, and the quantities of works should be at least 40% of the estimated quantity of major items. The cost of completed works of previous years shall be given weightage of 10% per year based on rupee value to bring them to the present price level. The bidder should submit a certificate of similar nature of work done, completed in the last 5 years, and a certificate of executed quantities of work done in the last 5 years. They should also submit a list of existing commitments with the value of remaining work, and an audited balance sheet of the last 5 years.
