Contraction sawn joint grove (using diamond studded blades) 3 to 5 mm wide and 1/4 to 1/3 depth of the slab (+) or (-) 5mm or as stibulated in the drawings and dowel bars complying with clauses 602 6.5 of specifications for road and bridge works (third revision) published new delhi in 1995 by IRC on behalf of Govt. of India, Ministry of Surface transport as directed in the drawings. The contraction joint shall be cut as soon as the concrete as undergone initial hardeniing and as hard enough to take the load of joint sawing machine with out causing damage to the slab. The joint celling compund shall be not poured bitumen type having flexibility, resistance to age hardening and durability of the sealant shall be in accordance with BS 5212 (part-2) with all lead & lift including cost and conveyance of all materials etc., completed for 50 mm depth.
