Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) is a coal producer headquartered at Sanctoria, in West Bengal in India. The company was founded in 1975 after the nationalisation of coal mines in India. The coal mines are being operated in the states of Jharkhand and West Bengal in India. It has inherited all the coal mines of the Raniganj Coalfield that belongs to the private sector.
