De-stressing of LWR track as per IRPWM manual with/without of rail tensor as directed by Engineer-in-charge or his authorized representative at site including removal of all fittings for free movement of 12 rails opening of level crossing etc., cutting LWR in panels of any length is directed by Engineer-in-charge or his authorized representative. Greasing of all pandrol clips after duly cleaning the clips and insert by contractor's wire brush, changing of the rubber pads/fittings wherever required, putting the rail on roller at every fifteenth sleepers, adjustment of gap at SEJ, lubrication of SEJ, fixing of fittings correctly from center of panel towards both ends, cutting of extra rails after distressing, insertion of cut rails of required sizes.

"Thermit welding of rail joints of 52/60 Kg including supply of petrol & labour (except welder) and tools & plants by SKV process under traffic block on running lines, trimming and grinding of joints at the top and gauge surface as per instruction laid down in LWR manual & to proper satisfaction of PWI at site. The rate should include the provision of gap by shifting the rails longitudinally, jim-crowing the rails for making ends straight, adjustment of sleepers at joints, supporting of welded joints on wooden support (supplied by the railway at PWI store) for a minimum of three days after welding. Carting of welding materials and other accessories from the PWI store by head lead, trolley or by any means. Only portions and mould boxes will be supplied by the railway. The work shall be supervised by the railway or their representatives. The rate includes readjustment of sleepers after welding duly ensuring that the joint is suspended and not supported includinglifting & packing of adjuscent sleeper as required. Manual trimming & grinding will not be permitted. Contractor will have to also 7 provide the following inputs for each trimming and grinding machine at his own cost. i) Skilled labour cum mechanic =1 no. ii)Skilled labour =1 no. iii) Unskilled labour =6 no. iv)K-oil for grinding machine @ 0.5 ltrs per jt.. v) Petrol for weld trimmer @ 1 litre for 15 joints N.B: 1. SKV welding will be done for converting single rails to SWR of min. 30M and maximum 39M length. All joints must be square after such conversion. No extra payment shall be done against pulling back or rail done for creating and distributing 2.No labour will be needed for filing joints by hand file. Hammer man and chipper for trimming of the joints will also not be needed. Trimmer and grinding machine will be arranged by Railways but the generator as per specification required for trimming and grinding will have to be supplied by Contractor. requisite gap for SKV welding.2.No labour will be needed for filing joints by hand file.
