The required prior work experience for the bidder is related to the assessment of their bid capacity. The bidder should have experience as a prime contractor within the last five years, with a value of 40% of the amount put to tender or of the estimated amount put to tender during this period. Alternatively, the bidder should have completed 2 similar nature of works, each with a minimum value of 30% of the estimated amount put to tender during the last 5 years. The bidder should have also successfully completed at least one contract of the same type of work with a value of at least 40% of the proposed contract within the last 5 years. The bid capacity is calculated based on the maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years, using the formula: Assessed Available Bid capacity = (A*N*M – B), where A is the maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years. The bidder's bid capacity is also dependent on their ability to invest 30% of the contract price of works by cash during the implementation of the works.
