About Tripura

Tripura a northeastern state of India. Being the third-smallest state in the country, it covers 10,491.69 km2 of area. It is bordered by Bangladesh to the north, south, and west, and the Indian states of Assam and Mizoram to the east. In the year 2011 the state had 3,671,032 residents, constituting 0.3% of the country's population.The length of its international border is 856 km. The state is connected with the rest of India by NH-44 which runs through Assam, Meghalaya, North Bengal, Kolkata and other parts of India. As per the 2011 census, Tripura is one of the most literate states in India, having a literacy rate of 87.75%.
