Placing boulders/stones behind abutments by hand packing to required height and width as per Railway specification aqnd directions of Engineer-in-charge with contractor's boulders.

Soling of stone 200mm thick.

Providing and laying blanketing materials of specifications as per RDSO guidelines for design/Construction of formation on Indian Railway track issued vide letter no. RS/G/108/Heavy Axle Load dated 19.10.2015, using well graded granular material having Cu>7, Cc between 1 and 3, fines (passing 75 microns) between 3% to 10%, minimum Socked CBR value of 25 and compacted at 100% of MDD in layers of maximum 30 cm thickness in loose state using graders and compaction using vibratory compactors, top and side dressing to provide final formation as per designed profile. The rate shall not include compaction, which shall be paid separately. NOTES: 1) If naturally available materials do not meet the laid down specifications, the blanket 1 material has to be produced by mechanical process using mechanical crushing or mechanical blending method or combination of these two methods as given in the Annexure C of RDSO Guidelines and Specifications for Design of Formation for Heavy Axle Load-2009. The quoted rates are deemed to Include the production of material by mechanical process. 2) The filter criteria and minimum EV2 Criteria as mentioned in the guidelines of 2009 is not applicable. 3) The rate shall include cost of all field and laboratory tests except CBR tests which will be paid vide separate BOQ item. 4) The Latest guidelines for Design/Construction of formation on Indian Railway track, issued vide RDSO Ir. No. RS/G/108/Heavy axle load dated 19.10.2015 shall be adopted for this item. The basic instructions (other than those contained in the latest guidelines dated 19.10.2015) detailed in GE: G-1 of 2003 and GE: G-0014 of 2009 shall continue to apply.
