Prepare the surface by grinding etching, wire brushing etc to remove all loose , rust, scales on the surface of the M. S. members and providing and applying two coats Fosroc’s exterior grade Aliphatic Polyurethane coating Deguard P.U including all materials labour leading etc complete.

Application of Carbon Fibre Wrapping Surface Preparation: Basic treatment must be made to the surface prior to any strengthening. All the substrates must be clean and sound. Surface is chipped to remove all loose concrete. The fine dust on the grinded surface is removed using power operated air blower. The cracks in the chimney shall be pressure grouted using MASTERINJECT1315 manufactured by M/s. BASF Primer Application:Primer the concrete surface with the penetrating primer (Master Brace P 3500 manufactured by M/s. BASF) prior to application of any subsequent Coating using brush or roller. The primer shall be applied uniformly in sufficient quantity to fully penetrate the concrete. Priming is done to the chimney only if the moisture check is below 5 %. Application of repair / leveling mortar:Existing uneven surface if any is filled with epoxy putty when the primed surface is still tacky. Application of Saturate.: A coat of saturated (Master Brace 4500 manufactured by M/s. BASF) to the tack free primed surface is applied using a brush sufficiently. Application of Carbon fabric.:CFRP fabric sheets must be cut before hand into prescribed sizes using appropriate scissors and or cutters. The fibres should be placed almost perpendicular to the crack . The CFRP fabric sheet is placed on the RCC surface immediately after the application of the saturant and rolled using hand roller.Required holes are drilled using power operated drilling machine and cleaned using power operated air blower and carbon fiber anchors are fixed at a regular intervals. A coat of saturate is applied on the placed fabric and sand is sprinkled and rendered over it to make the surface rough for the further application of plaster or putty. Measurement will be given for the area of CFRP fabric sheets.
