The required prior work experience for the bidder includes having experience in successfully completing or substantially completing at least one similar type of work within the last five years. The value of similar works completed should be at least 40 percent of the value of the proposed contract. Substantially completed works mean those works which are at least 90% completed. For joint ventures, the lead partner must meet not less than 50 percent of all criteria, and the joint venture must collectively satisfy certain criteria. The experience of other joint venture partners shall be considered if it is not less than 30 percent of the qualifying criteria. The estimated project cost for joint ventures should be 50 Crore and above. The bidder should have achieved a minimum annual financial turnover, defined as billing for works in progress and completed in all classes of civil engineering construction works, of at least the annual value of the contract or contracts applied for in any one year over the last five years. The bidder is required to have prior work experience in civil engineering constructions and should provide details of work performed as a prime contractor or as a nominated sub-contractor. The bidder should also provide quantities of work executed as a prime contractor or as a nominated sub-contractor in the last five years. The bidder should have a sound financial position, including long-term profitability, and provide information on any litigation or arbitration resulting from contracts completed or under execution over the last five years. The bidder is required to invest a minimum cash amount of up to 25% of the value of the work during implementation of the contract.
