Background On 31 December 2019, Who Was Informed Of Cases Of Pneumonia Of Unknown Cause Detected In Wuhan City, Hubei Province Of China. The Pathogen Was Subsequently Identified As Coronavirus Disease 2019 (covid-19). All Levels Of Who Have Been Working Closely With Member States In The Western Pacific Region Throughout The Pandemic. Who Teams Have Been Working Non-stop To Develop The Interim Guidance And Facilitate Meeting Obligations Under The International Health Regulations (2005). As Cases Continue To Be Reported, Additional Preparedness And Response Efforts Are Required In The Region. To Cope With The Situation, The Health Emergencies Team In The Who Regional Office Is Being Strengthened To Provide Technical Assistance To Member States For Preparedness And Response Efforts, Including In The Areas Of Epidemiology, Clinical Management And Public Health Interventions. The Covid-19 Response Operations In The Region Are Expected To Continue For The Foreseeable Future.   Purpose/specific Objective Of The Activity This Consultancy Will Support The Partner Coordination Pillar In The Who Regional Office For The Western Pacific On Issues Related To Covid-19.   Description Of Activities To Be Carried Out Under The Supervision Of The Partnership Coordination Pillar Lead And Overall Supervision Of The Wpro Imst Incident Manager And/or The Who Country Office Incident Manager, The Incumbent Will Provide Technical And Operational Assistance To The Covid-19 Response Activities From The Regional Office And/or Who Country Office.   Methods To Carry Out The Activity • Work In Coordination With The Incident Management System Team To Ensure Partner Coordination Priorities And Activities Are Managed Effectively Within The Overall Outbreaks And/or Health Emergency Preparedness, Response And Recovery Activities, In Compliance With The Who Technical Guidelines • Further Partnerships With Who Collaborating Centers In The Region And With Members Goarn, The Global Outbreak Alert And Response Network • Develop And Maintain Database Of Partners • Engage Partners For Innovation And Research • Build And Promote Partnerships Across The Organization • Perform Any Other Covid-19-related Duties, As Required By The Partnership Coordination Pillar Lead   Qualifications & Experience Education Essential: First University Degree In Medicine, Public Health, Management, Business Or Public Administration Or Other Social Sciences From An Accredited/recognized Institute.   Experience Essential: A Minimum Of Two Years Of Relevant Experience In Public Health Preparedness At The National And International Levels In Planning, Developing, Managing And Monitoring Technical Programmes Or Operations Research And Reporting, In A Public Health Or A Humanitarian International Context. Desirable: Previous Experience With Who Or Other Un Agencies. previous International Experience.   Technical Skills & Knowledge • Excellent Communications And Writing Skills • Excellent Analytical, Planning And Organizational Skills • Attention To Detail • Ability To Work In A Team With Limited Supervision • Ability To Work Under Pressure   Languages Proficient In Written And Spoken English.   Competencies • Building And Promoting Partnerships Across The Organization And Beyond • Moving Forward In A Changing Environment • Ensuring The Effective Use Of Resources • Fostering Integration And Team Work • Communication In A Credible And Effective Way   Additional Information: The Ideal Candidate Will Be Based In Manila, Philippines For The Duration Of The Consultancy.
