Background In The Division Of Pacific Technical Support (dps), The Pacific Noncommunicable Diseases (ncd) And Health Through The Life Course (pnh) Assists The Pacific Island Ministries Of Health With Implementation Of Health Promotion Interventions. This Includes A Focus On Settings-based Approaches, With An Emphasis On Schools. Health Promoting Schools (hps) Are An Important Strategy For Influencing Behaviour From A Young Age, And While Hps Are Commonly Implemented In Many Countries, There Is Scope For Strengthening The Approach And/or Coverage Of These Programmes, With A Particular Focus On Sustainability. Planed Timelines – • Start Date: 20th October 2020 • End Date: 20th February 2021   Purpose/specific Objective Of The Activity A Consultant Is Required To Assist With Two Complementary Tasks Related To Health Promoting Schools. The First Is To Finalise A Concept Paper On Health Promoting Schools In The Western Pacific Region, And The Second Is To Undertake A Review Of Health Promoting Schools Fiji And Identify Mechanisms For Expansion To All Schools In Fiji.   Description Of Activities To Be Carried Out • Drafting Of Hps Concept Paper/framework, Guided By Pnh Team And Who Reference Documents • Desk-based Review Of Hps Fiji, Key Stakeholder Interviews, Drafting Of Roadmap For Hps Fiji, Consultation With Key Agencies   Methods To Carry Out The Activity Output 1: Concept Paper/framework On Health Promoting Schools Drafted (that Would Cover Western Pacific Region), Along With Complementary Powerpoint Deliverable 1: Framework Drafted Based On Provided Information, Template And Discussions With Pnh Team Members Deliverable 2: Powerpoint Completed.
