Develop And Implement A Knowledge, Attitudes And Practices (kap) Survey On Public Knowledge And Perception Of Ncds And Their Risk Factors. & The World Health Organization (who) Is Seeking Offers For Technical Support To Develop And Implement A Knowledge, Attitudes And Practices (kap) Survey On Public Knowledge And Perception Of Ncds And Their Risk Factors. Background Noncommunicable Diseases (ncds) Are The Leading Causes Of Death And Disability In The Western Pacific Region, Imposing A Substantial Burden On Societies By Contributing To Premature Deaths, Reduced Quality Of Life And Significant Health Care Costs. Ncds Encompass A Broad Range Of Conditions Including Cardiovascular Diseases, Cancer, Diabetes And Chronic Respiratory Diseases. In 2019, 12 Million People In The Western Pacific Region Died From Ncds. Many Ncds Share Modifiable Behavioural Risk Factors Such As Tobacco Use, Unhealthy Diets And Harmful Use Of Alcohol. Controlling These Risk Factors Is A Critical Component Of Reducing The Burden Of Ncds. The Ncd Prevention And Health Promotion Team (pnd) Unit Under The Division Of Healthy Environments And Populations, Who Regional Office For The Western Pacific Is Supporting Member States To Reduce The Burden Of Ncds Through The Implementation Of Evidence-based Interventions To Prevent And Reduce Modifiable Risk Factors. To Strengthen These Efforts, We Are Seeking Applications From Potential Institutional Partners To Conduct A Comprehensive Knowledge, Attitudes And Practices Survey In The Western Pacific Region. This Survey Will Serve As A Foundational Tool For Evidence Based Policy-making, Strategic Communications And Targeted Interventions Aligned With The Goals Of The Regional Action Framework For Noncommunicable Disease Prevention And Control In The Western Pacific. By Gaining An Understanding Of The Current Knowledge, Attitudes And Practices Regarding Ncds And Their Risk Factors In The Western Pacific Region, We Will Be Better Equipped To Design And Implement Effective Initiatives To Address The Specific Needs And Challenges Faced By Our Region. Requirements/work To Be Performed Output 1: Design An Appropriate Survey And Sampling Methodology And Conduct A Knowledge, Attitudes And Practices Survey To Gather Data Relating To Public Awareness And Understanding Of Ncds And Their Risk Factors Deliverable 1.1 – Develop And Submit A Proposed Work Plan And Timeline Indicating How The Work Will Be Conducted, Including The Delivery Format Of The Survey. Deliverable 1.2 – Submit Draft Survey And Sampling Methodology And Analysis Plan And Seek Feedback. Deliverable 1.3 – Submit Final Survey And Sampling Methodology And Analysis Plans. Deliverable 1.4 – Disseminate The Kap Survey In An Appropriate Format Within Select Countries In The Western Pacific Region And Collect Quantitative And Qualitative Data. Output 2: Analyse Data From The Knowledge, Attitudes And Practices Survey And Synthesize The Results In The Form Of A Presentation And Report With Key Takeaways And Insights And Acknowledging Any Limitations Of The Survey Deliverable 2.1 – Conduct An Analysis Of Data Gathered From The Kap Survey And Develop A Slide Deck Including A Summary Of The Analysis And Key Insights. Solicit Feedback On The Slide Deck To Inform Analysis And Report Drafting. Deliverable 2.2 – Submit The Final Slide Deck And Technical Report Summarising Results And Key Takeaways From The Kap Survey. Characteristics Of Contractor Mandatory Experience: Proven Experience In Survey Methodology Design. Extensive Experience In Conducting Surveys In The Context Of Public Health Or Another Relevant Area. Demonstrated Experience In The Analysis Of Quantitative And Qualitative Data And In Communicating Research Findings Through Presentations And Technical Reports. Experience Working In Multicultural And Multidisciplinary Settings In The Western Pacific Region, Preferably Within The Un System.
