Apw - Focus Group Discussions With Persons With Disabilities & Background The Global Report On Health Equity For Persons With Disabilities 2022 Demonstrates That Persons With Disabilities Experience Health Inequities, Due To Avoidable, Unjust, And Unfair Conditions. It Calls On Government Leadership And For Decision-makers At All Levels Of The Health Sector, To Include Disability In Health Systems Strengthening Efforts At Country Level. The Health Equity For Persons With Disabilities – A Guide For Action Is A Strategic Planning Toolkit Developed By Who In Consultation With Member States And Health Sector Partners. The Disability Guide For Action Provides Practical Guidance On A Process That Ministries Of Health Can Undertake To Advance Health Equity For Persons With Disabilities, Including Conducting Situation Assessments And Action Plan Development. As The Ministry Of Health Malaysia Is Currently Developing A New National Plan Of Action For Health Care Inclusiveness For Persons With Disabilities, To Support This Process, Who Is Conducting A Gap Analysis, Which Includes Consultations With Persons With Disabilities And Their Representative Organisations, In The Form Of Focus Group Discussions (fgds). Who Is Seeking A Contractual Partner To Host And Organize The Fgds. The Purpose Of The Fgds Is To Facilitate The Situation Assessment By Gathering Input From Diverse Representatives Of Persons With Disabilities. 2. Purpose/specific Objective Of The Activity The Primary Purpose Of This Contract Is To Commission A Partner To Host And Organize A Focus Group Discussion With Persons With Disabilities. 3. Methods To Carry Out The Activity There Should Be Two Focus Group Discussions (fgd) With Persons With Disabilities, One Representing Adults And One Representing Minors (children And Adolescents And Their Caregivers Where Relevant). The Anticipated Size Of Each Fgd Is Approximately 8-12 Participants (plus Interpreters And Support People). The Participants Should Be Representative Of The Malaysian Population, With An Appropriate Gender, Racial, Age And Geographic (rural Vs Urban) Distribution, As Well As With Diverse Experiences Of Disabilities. The Contractual Partner Is Expected To Arrange An Interpreter As Required By The Participants (the Fgd Will Be Facilitated In Spoken English). It Is Expected That The Contractual Partner Will Organize An Appropriate Accessible Meeting Venue, Including Refreshments, As Well As Support The Participants With The Transportation Arrangements, As Appropriate. Who And Moh Experts Will Facilitate The Group Discussions Organized By The Partner.   4. Description Of Activities To Be Carried Out Output 1 Organize The Logistics Of Two Focus Group Discussions: Deliverable 1.1 Prepare Details Of The Logistics: Venue, Refreshments, Interpreters, List Of Participants. Deliverable 1.2 Host Two Fgd With Adults With Disabilities – One Fgd With Women With Disabilities, And One Fgd With Men With Disabilities, To Be Facilitated By Who And Moh Experts. Deliverable 1.3 Host One Fgd With Caregivers Of Children With Disabilities And One Fgd With Adolescents With Disabilities, To Be Facilitated By Who And Moh Experts. 5. Qualifications & Experience Qualifications A Registered Institution, Company, Or Organization Experience Required: A Minimum Of Five (5) Years Of Experience In Working With People With Disabilities Desirable: Experience In Hosting Meetings Or Focus Group Discussions With Diverse Groups Of Persons With Disabilities. Technical Skills & Knowledge Excellent Understanding Of The Experiences Related To Disability Able To Host And Manage A Inclusive And Accessible Workshops Excellent Communication And Coordination Skills And Knowledge On Accessible Communication Good Knowledge And Skills In Writing And Structural Thinking Languages Fluent In Written And Spoken English And Malay.
