This Project Includes But Is Not Limited To The Following General Outline Of The Project And Shall Be Worked With All Drawings Included With The Contract Documents: the Health Facility Steam System Operates Year-round For Hvac (i.e., Building Heating And Ac Reheat), Medical Equipment Sterilization And Domestic Water Heating. It Is Crucial That All Tie-in Work Associated With The Steam And Condensate Systems Will Be Accomplished And Completed During The Warmer Months (approximately April 1 Through November 1) To Minimize Critical System Shutdowns. All Other Work Can Be Performed At Any Time As Long As A Phasing Plan Is Submitted To The Va. The Contractor Shall Plan And Coordinate All Required Steam Shut-downs With The Va Cor. Steam Shut-downs Are Limited To Eight (8)-hours Maximum Unless Approved By The Va Cor And Medical Administration. The Contractor Shall Also Develop A Construction Phasing Plan Utilizing The Phasing Steps Shown Withing The Contract Documents And Drawing Gi002. The Contractor's Phasing Plan Is Subject To Final Approval By The Va. Final Approved Phasing Plan Shall Not Be Grounds For A Change Order. with The Exception Of Building 21 (research Building), The Construction Phasing Of This Project Will Be Carried Out Without The Use Of Rental Steam Generation Trailers. The Objective Is To Leave The Existing Central Boiler Plant Fully Operational During Construction. The New Central Boiler Plant And Emergency Generator/electrical Rooms And New Steam Tunnel Will Be Constructed, Fully Operational, Tested, And Commissioned Prior To Demolition Of The Existing Central Boiler Plant. Once The Existing Plant Is Removed The Building Shell Of The Central Chiller Plant Will Be Erected.
