Background: 1.1 The Current Stretchers In Use At The Joplin Clinical Based Outpatient Clinic Cannot Fit Thru The Doors Of The Procedure Rooms. Recently, A Veteran Had A Medical Issue In The Lobby And There Was No Way To Safely Transport The Veteran To The Required Room. The Requested Stretcher Will Be Maneuverable Thru The Procedure Room Door Openings. The Nursing Service At The Veterans Healthcare System Of The Ozarks (vhso) Also Has A Need For One Each Of The Requested Powered Stretchers. The New Mental Health Building Will Be Separate From The Main Facility Which, During A Medical Emergency, Creates A Long Transport Distance To The Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit Or Medical Surgical Units. The Currently Equipped Low Base Non-adjustable Mental Health Beds Do Not Allow For Lateral Transfer From Bed To Regular Stretcher, Therefore; A Stretcher Is Required That Will Accommodate The Low Height Bed Frame. The Powered Stretcher Will Lift And Lower Patients Up To 700 Lbs. Which Will Eliminate The Need For Manual Patient Handling And Preserve The Dignity And Safety Of Our Veteran Patients As Well As The Safety Of Staff. The Requested Equipment Was Identified By The Facility S Safe Patient Handling & Mobility (sphm) Facility Coordinator. 2. Scope: 2.1 The Contractor Will Furnish All Labor, Transportation, Parts, And Expertise Necessary To Provide The Vhso With 2 Each Powered Transport Stretchers And The Necessary Training. 3. Salient Characteristics For Each Powered Transport Stretcher: 3.1 Must Be Height Adjustable From 44 Inches To 16.25 Inches. 3.2 Must Be Length Adjustable From 80 Inches To 58 Inches. 3.3 Must Have A Width, Including The Wheels, Of 24 Inches. 3.4 Must Have A Stretcher Frame Height Of 17 Inches. 3.5 Must Have Siderail Extenders With 17.5 Inches Of Additional Space. 3.6 Must Have An Unassisted Lift Capacity Of 700 Pounds. 3.7 Frame Must Convert To Handle At Head Of Bed With Head Elevated For Maneuverability And Ergonomic Pushing Height For Staff. 3.8 Frame At Head Must Adjusts In 5 Positions. 3.9 Must Have A Pneumatic Backrest Adjustment. 3.10 Must Come With 2 Each 36 V Lithium-ion Batteries With A Charger That Requires An Outlet. 3.11 Must Have A Sealed Mattress That Is Velcro-free For Infection Control Prevention. 3.12 Must Include A 2 Year Warranty. 3.13 Contractor Must Perform Initial Training For The Staff And Will Perform A Yearly Training Day To Refresh Staff Competencies. 4.
