Direct-push And Auger Drilling Are Suitable Drilling Methods For Much Of This Work Because The Aquifers Or Parts Of Aquifers Of Greatest Interest Are Unconsolidated Sandy Deposits, Depths Of Investigation Are Mostly Less Than 100 Feet Below Land Surface, And Minimal Use Of Drilling Fluids (potable Water) Is Strongly Preferred. The Work Will Be Part Of Several Studies By The Usgs Of The Hydrogeology And Groundwater Resources In Unconsolidated Sandy Glacial Aquifers And Associated Alluvium.
