1.0 The United Nations Assistance Mission For Iraq (unami) Has A Requirement To Obtain A Contract Of One (1) Year With An Option Of Extension For Two Years (one Year At A Time), For The Services Of A Logistics/freight Forwarding Company For Customs Clearance, Overland Transportation Of United Nations And Contingent Owned Equipment (unoe/coe), Including Handling And Packaging Of Dangerous Goods, That May Include Weapons And Small Arms Ammunition 2.0 The General Requirement Is The Provision Of Freight Forwarding And Overland Transportation Services In Iraq, Kuwait And Between Iraq-kuwait Of United Nations Owned (unoe) And Contingent Owned (coe) Equipment From International And Domestic Ports And Airports. Services Will Also Include, As And When Required, Provision Of Certified And Recognized Personnel In Iraq And Kuwait Engaged To Physically Assist Unami In Gaining Import/export Approvals/levy Waivers From Host Government (iraq Only), And To Carry Out Customs And Other Departmental Import/export Clearance For Unami Shipments. In Addition, The Contractor Must Be Able To Arrange For The Necessary Approvals Etc. And Then Carry Out Transportation Of Unoe And Coe To/from Locations Within Iraq To Other Specific Locations Within Iraq 3.0 For This Purpose, Unami Will Undertake A Competitive Bidding Exercise Shortly, Accordingly Would Issue A Request For Proposal (rfp) With Detailed Specifications And Terms To Those Companies Who Would Express Their Interest And Provided Initial Relevant Information As To Their Ability To Fulfill Unami's Requirement 4.0 The Solicitation Will Be Based On A Detailed Statement Of Works, Un General Conditions Of Contracts And Other Related Documents Which Will Be Provided By Unami To All Companies Who Will Respond To The Eoi And Qualify For The Tender. 5.0 Please Note The Following: 5.1 This Eoi Is Not An Invitation For Submission Of A Bid/proposal. 5.2 Unami Reserves The Right In Selecting The Invitees For The Competitive Bidding Based On Substantial And Proven Records Of Performance In The Subject Field Of Activities And Mere Expressing An Interest Would Not Automatically Warrant For An Document. 5.3 Unami Reserves The Right To Reject Eois Received After The Above Deadline.
