(youth Endowment Fund) There Are Several Ways In Which The Mentor May Support The Mentee; • Acting As A Positive Role-model And Setting A Good Example For A Mentee. • Acting As An Advocate For The Mentee, Seeking Their Views At Multiple Points Throughout The Relationship. • Developing A Trusting Relationship And Providing Emotional Support. • Helping The Mentee To Develop Life Skills, Social Skills Or Communication Skills. • Encourage Positive Relationships With Peers And Within Families. • Educate And Raise Awareness Around Risk Taking Behaviours. • Helping The Mentee With Learning And Academic Development. • Providing Practical Support With Job Applications Or Access To Services. • Sharing Their Networks And Introducing Mentees To Social, Cultural, Sports And Diversionary Activities Which Genuinely Engage Young People And Encourage Positive Use Of Leisure Time.
