In 2017 The Hms Warrior Preservation Trust Merged With The National Museum Of The Royal Navy (nmrn), Following The Merger The Nmrn Conducted Surveys Of Warrior's Electrical Systems And Identified That It Requires Extensive Rewiring Work. Previously In 2018 A Tender Was Advertised But Was Not Awarded Following Feedback From The Submitted Bids. The Ship And Its Systems Host A Staff Presence 24/7 Across The Whole Year, With Members Of The Public Visiting During Opening Hours Of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. The Ship Hosts Events On Board Throughout The Year, With Catering For Events Being Supplied By The Fully Equipped Professional Kitchen On Board The Ship. The Ship Maintains Numerous Systems Such As; A Macerator, Speaker, Fire Detection, Lighting And Ventilation Systems Alongside The Public-facing Role. This Tender Is Intended To Help Support The Current And Future Power Requirements Of The Nmrn Onboard Hms Warrior. The Nmrn Is Seeking To Rewire Hms Warrior To Bring All Electrical Systems On Board Up To Standard, This Is Across The Ship And Partially To The Jetty Alongside Warrior. The Scope Of Work That Suppliers Will Be Required To Replace And Update Includes; - Removal And Replacement Of The Existing Electrical Circuits Onboard Including; Lv/small Power Systems - Removal Of Existing Fire Alarm And Commissioning New Fire Alarm System (to L5 Standard And L1 Performance) Across The Ship. - Removal And Installation Of A New Ship-wide Pa System - Removal And Updating Of Cctv System - Replacement Of Hvac Ventilation System Wiring And Controls - Provisions To Replace And Update The Mast Downlights And Fittings For Seasonal Lighting (foremast Christmas Tree Lights). - Requirement To Refurbish Approx. 150-period Accurate Replica Light Fittings; Including Updating To Led Lighting And Rewiring To Reinstall And Reuse. Over The Next 12 Years The National Museum Of The Royal Navy (nmrn) Are Leading The Conservation Of Hms Victory To Ensure The Long-term Preservation Of A World-class Historic Vessel And An Exemplar Of A Royal Navy Capital Warship From The Age Of Sail. In Addition To Being A Unique Historic Asset, Hms Victory Continues To Be A Significant Visitor Attraction Within Portsmouth Historic Dockyard Whilst Continuing To Serve As A Commissioned Warship Of The Royal Navy. The Aim Of The Hms Victory Conservation Programme Is To Deliver A Fully-conserved Hms Victory, In An Open Environment, And In A Condition To Survive For The Next 50 Years Without Major Work Beyond A Programme Of Planned Maintenance. The Conservation Work Includes Replacement Of All External And Some Internal Planking In A Staged Programme; It Is Intended That The Ship Remains Open To The Public Throughout The Planned Work. Core To The Programme Is The Procurement Of Timber, Primarily Oak, To Meet The Planned Hull Conservation Programme. Where Solid Timber Of Sufficient Size And Quality Is Not Available The Nmrn Will Require The Supply Suitable Timber For Lamination In Nmrn's Workshops. In Addition To Planking, Additional Solid 'curved' Timber Will Be Needed To Replace Items Such As Knees And Beams (compass Timber), And The Timber Supplier(s) Will Be Expected To Work With The Nmrn To Source And Produce Such Items. To Achieve This Requirement, The Nmrn Recognise That The Procurement Model Is Likely To Consist Of A 'framework-type' Service Agreement, Separated Into Lots Associated With The Various Elements Of Timber Supply. The Nmrn Are Seeking A Range Of Suppliers Who Meet The Following: Flexibility And Responsive To Change - Suppliers Who Are Flexible In Their Approach And Can Cope With Changing Environments, Processes, And Requirements. - Suppliers Who Can Operate Seamlessly During The Whole Duration Of The Contract. Compliance - Suppliers Who Fully Comply With All Contractual Obligations, National, And International Laws. - Suppliers Who Fully Comply With Environmental Requirements, As Specified By The Nmrn. This Notice Intends To Identify Suppliers Who Would Like To Express An Interest In Providing These Services And To Invite All Interested Parties To Attend A Market Engagement Event. The Purpose Of This Early Market Engagement Is To: • Secure Wider Market Interest In The Supply Of Timber, Including Timber Buyers, Sawmills, Forestry And Suppliers/distributors; • To Assess The Level Of Appetite From Different Providers In The Delivery Of Such Provision; And • To Test With The Market The Potential Delivery And Procurement Model. The National Museum Of The Royal Navy (nmrn) Wishes To Appoint An Exhibition Designer For A Colourful And Engaging Exhibition At Portsmouth, Showcasing Objects And Interactives Based On Hms Challenger's Famous Voyage Of 1872-6, With Linked Content Displayed At Nmrn Hartlepool. The Exhibition Will Also Highlight The Royal Navy's Continued Involvement In Science At Sea, In The Context Of The Challenger Legacy. The Exhibition Tender Will Comprise Of Phase 1 (design) And Phase 2 (manage), With A Break Between Them, The Nmrn Are Committing To Work To Riba Stage 4 Value Of £28k For Phase 1. If The Proposals For Full Costs (not Exceeding £199,100) Are Taken Forward To Proceed To Phase 2 (manage - Up To Riba Stage 6) We Will Continue With The Winning Bid And Design For This Tender.
