The bidder is required to have prior work experience in construction works of a similar nature and volume over the last five years. The bidder needs to provide information on the total annual volume of civil engineering construction work executed and payments received in the last five years. They should also provide details of work performed as prime contractor or sub-contractor on construction works of a similar nature and volume over the last five years. The bidder must have satisfactorily completed, as prime contractor or sub-contractor, at least one similar work of value not less than 25% of the amount put to bid. For specific roles, the required prior work experience includes: - For Road Manager: Graduate in Civil Engineering with 5 years of experience in Road/Bridge works. - For Bridge Engineer: Graduate in Civil Engineering with 5 years of experience in Road/Bridge works if the length of the bridge is more than 15m. - For Maintenance Engineer: Diploma in Civil Engineering with 3 years of experience. - For Works Supervisor: Matric or equivalent with 3 years of experience. The lead partner in a Joint Venture must meet not less than 50% of the qualification criteria, while each of the remaining partners must meet not less than 25% of all the qualifying criteria. The bidder must also have a minimum annual turnover/civil engineering work achieved, which will be indexed at the rate of 8% per year. The bidder should propose subcontracting of components of the construction of road/bridge, aggregating to not more than 25 percent of the contract price, and provide an undertaking to invest money from own resources of the bidder, which shall be no less than 25% of the contract value.
