The bidder is required to have prior work experience in construction works of a similar nature and volume over the last five years. The bidder should have completed at least one similar work equal in value to one-third (or one-fourth in Naxal/Left Wing Extremist Affected Districts) of the estimated cost of work (excluding maintenance cost for five years) for which the bid is invited. The bidder's financial turnover should be at least 60% (or 50% in Naxal/Left Wing Extremist Affected Districts) of the amount put to bid if the amount put to bid is up to Rs. 200 lakhs, and 75% (or 50% in Naxal/Left Wing Extremist Affected Districts) if the amount put to bid is more than Rs. 200 lakhs. The bidder should provide details of works in progress or contractually committed, and the total monetary value of civil construction works performed for each of the last five years. The bidder should also provide information on the total annual volume of civil engineering construction work executed and payments received in the last five years preceding the year in which bids are invited. Additionally, the value of road work completed by the bidder under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in originally stipulated period of completion shall be counted as 120% for the purpose of evaluating prior work experience. The bidder's available bid capacity for construction work should be equal to or more than the total bid value excluding maintenance, calculated based on the maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years, updated to the price level of the last year at a rate of 8 percent per year. The bidder can propose subcontracting the components of the Works for construction/up-gradation, aggregating to not more than 25 percent of the Contract Price.
