The required prior work experience for the bidder includes having a minimum annual financial turnover of at least the annual value of the contract applied for in any one year over the last five years. The bidder should also have experience in successfully completing or substantially completing at least one contract of highway (road and/or bridge works) or airport runway of at least 40 percent of the value of the proposed contract within the last five years. Substantially completed works mean those works which are at least 90% completed. The value and percentage of similar works completed should be clearly mentioned in the certificate from the employer, along with the name of the work, contract value, billing amount, date of commencement of works, and any other relevant information. The bidder should have prior work experience with a minimum of 90% or more of the original contract price for similar works completed satisfactorily. The bidder should provide information on the quantities of work executed as a prime contractor or as a nominated sub-contractor, including quantities of cement concrete, masonry, earthworks, and bituminous work, for the last five years. The bidder must have completed works of a similar nature, and provide details of the work performed, including the project name, name of the employer, description of work, contract number, value of the contract, date of issue of the work order, stipulated period of completion, and actual date of completion. The bidder should also provide a certificate from the engineer-in-charge for the completed works, explaining reasons for any delays. The bidder must have sufficient experience to handle the work independently, and the site engineer employed by the bidder must have sufficient experience and qualifications. In terms of specific values, the cost of the work to be executed is categorized into different ranges, including more than Rs.50 lakhs, between Rs.15 lakhs and Rs.50 lakhs, between Rs.5 lakhs and Rs.15 lakhs, and less than Rs.5 lakhs. The bidder is required to furnish a performance security for an amount equal to 5% of the contract price, and have liquid assets and/or availability of credit facilities equivalent to 25% of the tender amount.
