The bid capacity required in the given tender to bid can be calculated using the formula: Assessed available bid capacity = (A*N*2-B) Where A = Maximum value of civil engineering works executed in any one year during the last five years (updated to the price level of the year indicated in Appendix) N = completion of the works for which bids are invited (up to 6 months it will be ½ & for 6 to 12 months it will be 1) B = Value (updated to the price level of the year indicated in Appendix) of existing commitments and ongoing works to be completed during the next year (period of completion of works for which bids are invited). Additionally, the bid capacity required can also be determined by the following information: 1. Annual financial turnover: 2/3rd of the Notified Invitation Tender (NIT) value. 2. Value of single similar work: 1/3rd of the NIT value. 3. Liquid assets and/or availability of credit facilities: 10% of the NIT value. Other requirements for bid capacity include an undertaking for investment of a minimum cash amount up to 25% of the value of the work during the implementation of the contract, and evidence of access to or availability of credit facilities, which is a minimum of 10% of the notified contract value. The bid security amount is 2% of the NIT value for the general category and 1% of the NIT value for ST/SC/OBC and unemployed engineers. The performance guarantee amount is 2% of the contract price.
