The bidder is required to have prior work experience, specifically in similar works. The value of similar work should be at least 1/3rd of the respective value of work, which is not less than one third of the contract value. Additionally, the annual financial turnover amount should be 67% of the DNIT value in any one year. The bidder should also have completed quantities of works, which is 40% of the estimated quantity of major items. The bidder should have experience in works of a similar nature and size for each of the last five years, with the total monetary value of civil construction work performed for each year provided. A single similar nature of work as a prime contractor, with a value of not less than one third of the contract value, should be completed. However, there is a relaxation for unemployed Graduate/Diploma Engineers, who should have a minimum annual financial turnover of 25% of the DNIT in any one year. The cost of completed works of previous years is given weightage of 10% per year based on rupee value to bring them to the present price level. The required prior work experience includes having satisfactorily completed at least one similar work with a completion rate of not less than 90% of the contract value.
