The school property of the Karl-Gärtner School (plot no. 1/6) has a size of 21,178 m². The school complex, which is a listed cultural monument in accordance with Section 2 Paragraph 1 of the Hdschg, was built in two phases between 1963 and 1967 by the architect Daniel Jourdan. The loosely grouped one- and two-storey, flat-roofed pavilions in reinforced concrete construction with reddish-brown clinker bricks are connected to one another via walkways and spatially enclose the school yard.
