Contract notice - general guideline, standard regulation, open procedure (services) IoT black ice sensors for the Hof district - Smart City Procurement, deployment, and operation of IoT black ice sensors at approximately 140 reference points in the Hof district as part of the Model Projects funding program of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building IoT black ice sensors for the Hof district - Smart City As digitalization advances, the Hof district is striving to transform itself into a smart region. Within the nationwide network of Smart Cities model projects, the Hof district has qualified as one of a total of 73 model regions for the funding program of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building. The "hoferland.digital" project focuses on developing spatial strategies and goals for sustainable digitalization. The Smart City Strategy plays a central role here by coordinating digital initiatives at the district level and consolidating the interests of the 27 cities and municipalities. All projects implemented within this framework are aligned with the overarching goals of the KfW-funded Smart City/Region project "hoferland.digital": - Expanding infrastructure for citizens - Strengthening the culture of innovation and knowledge transfer - Strengthening sustainability, climate protection, and resilience - Intergenerational education from and for the region. The Hof district is seeking competent implementation partners for the Hoferland.digital model project, funded from October 2020 to September 2027. An important basis for uniform data collection will be created through the use of a district-wide and comprehensive Lorawan. This serves as a basis for successfully establishing further subprojects in the IoT area (particularly sensor use cases). Lorawan is currently in the deployment phase. Commissioning is expected in April 2025. This contract serves the establishment and operation of an initial pilot use case, "IoT black ice sensor network." In addition to the responsible project management for this use case, the contract includes collaboration with the Hof district building yard, which is significantly involved in the project, the delivery and installation of the required hardware, the integration of the sensor software into the existing Lorawan base infrastructure (gateways) and the Lorawan Network Server (LNS) Chirpstack, operation, and the overall responsible project management for this use case for the duration of the project's funding period. The contract will be executed in accordance with the terms of the contract published with the tender documents.

The school has existed since 1955 and has been one of three experimental schools in the state of Hesse with visitors worldwide since 1995. This status grants it additional teaching positions and requires it to fulfill a pilot school mandate. A pilot school is intended to be permanent and serves as an instrument for the further development of the school system—comparable, for example, to the "development departments" of industrial companies. It must present and publish its developments, conduct its own evaluations, and have them evaluated externally. It must be open to visitors and offer them the opportunity to transfer ideas, materials, and conceptual building blocks to their own situation. It is generally accompanied by academic research. The HELA focuses on inclusion, analog versus digital (balance), and cultural and aesthetic aspects (film, theater, projects). Currently, approximately 625 students are taught in 24 classes. The HELA is to be converted into a school with future-oriented school architecture for the next 50 years through a core renovation and a new building with an integrated two-court gymnasium. A cook-and-chill kitchen (regeneration kitchen) with additional cooking facilities and a teaching kitchen are planned for student meals. The general renovation and new construction will be carried out according to the Sustainable Building Code (LNB) of the state capital Wiesbaden, using the Sustainable Building Assessment System (BNB). BNB Silver certification with an overall fulfillment level of 75% is to be achieved. An overall fulfillment level of 80% is assessed project-specifically as standard, which would then correspond to a gold certification. Further information can be found in the task description.
