The required prior work experience for the bidder includes successfully completing or substantially completing any one of the following categories of work(s) during the last 07 years: (i) Three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of the tender, (ii) Two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of the tender, (iii) One similar work costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of the tender. The definition of similar nature of work is "Signaling indoor works of RRI or EI or PI with or without supply of equipment's". For subletting of work costing up to Rs 50 lakh, no previous work experience is required. The value of similar works completed is considered for calculating the maximum value of construction works executed and payment received in any one of the previous three financial years or the current financial year, denoted as 'A' in the Available Bid Capacity formula. The Available Bid Capacity formula is: Available Bid Capacity = [A x N x 2] – 0.33xNxB, where 0.33 is the percentage used to calculate the deduction for existing commitments and balance amount of ongoing works. The bidder must have a minimum average annual contractual turnover, calculated as an average of "total contractual payments" in the previous three financial years, as per the audited balance sheet. The minimum average annual contractual turnover is V/N or 'V' whichever is less; where V = Advertised value of the tender in crores of Rupees and N = Number of years prescribed for completion of work for which bids have been invited.
