The required prior work experience for the bidder varies depending on the nature of the work. The experience required includes: 1. Experience in similar type of work, such as Bituminous Road work, Building Construction, Sewer and water supply, Survey work, etc. 2. Completion of similar works with a value of at least 40% of the estimated cost. 3. Satisfactory completion of similar works in the last 7 years, with specific requirements including: - Three similar completed works each costing not less than 40% of the estimated cost, - Two similar completed works each costing not less than 60% of the estimated cost, - One similar completed work each costing not less than 80% of the estimated cost. The bidder should have average annual turnover worth minimum 40% of the estimated cost during the last five consecutive years. The bidding capacity is calculated based on the maximum turnover in construction works executed in any one year during the last five years. The value of similar works completed is considered in the calculation of bidding capacity, and the bidder is required to have completed similar nature of works during the last seven years prior to the bid submission. The bidder should also have a positive profit after tax in at least three years out of the last five consecutive years. The amount of liquid assets and/or credit facilities required is not less than 10% of the value of the contract/contracts applied for, and the bidder should be able to invest a minimum cash up to 25% of contract value of work during implementation of work.
