Rfp-2023-127-gender Consultant & The Purpose Of This Request For Proposal (rfp) Is To Enter Into A Contractual Agreement With A Successful Bidder And Select A Suitable Contractor To Undertake Research, And Support Coordination And Advocacy Goals Related To The “education+ Initiative” Coordinated By Unaids. The Full-time Consultant Will Provide The Education Plus Initiative Secretariat With Critical Support Across Its Ongoing Work, To Respond To Multiple Demands And Tasks Such As: 1. Support Organization Of High-level Events And Advocacy Engagements Across All Aspects Of Their Delivery And Play A Lead Role In Day-to-day Coordination (e.g., Drafting Correspondence, Invitations, Supporting Invitees, Coordinating Design Of Products And Translations, Etc.) As Well As Pre- And Post-event Dissemination And Supporting Communications Plans. 2. Lead The Tracking Of Related Developments Concerning The Action Coalitions Launched At The Generation Equality Forum, Including Proactively Assisting In Identifying Opportunities For Engagements For High-impact Advocacy (i.e., In Panels); Reporting And Preparation Of Briefs For Senior Management And Staff; And Providing Feedback On Communications Products Including Social Media For These Engagements. 3. Provide Support In Day-to-day Coordination For The Roll Out Of The Education Plus Initiative As May Assigned, Such As In Developing And/or Maintaining Planning And Coordination Tools, And Monitoring To Ensure Timely Deliverables By All Responsible Parties (i.e. Annual Workplan, Budget Preparations, Upkeep Of Lead Global And Regional Initiatives, Etc.); Preparing Donor Proposals, Reports And Updating Internal Progress Status Reports On A Monthly Basis; Correspondence, Arranging Monthly Meetings With Unaids Co- Sponsors And Consultations With Partners (i.e. Managing Invitations, Preparing Draft Minutes). 4. Provide Significant Technical And Advisory Support To Champion Countries In Their Stakeholder Consultation Processes For The Country Launches Of The Initiative, The In-country Roll-out Of The Initiative Including In The Development Of Country Operational Plans, And The Country-specific Costed Project Documents. 5. Participate And Document The Outcomes Of The Periodic Monitoring Calls With The Champion Countries Including Support In The Identification Of Strategic Entry-points For Accelerated Action In-country. 6. Support The Monitoring And Evaluation Functions Through Contributing To The Implementation Of The M&e Plan. 7. Contribute Significantly To Knowledge Management (documentation On Lessons Learned, Good Practices, Dissemination Through The Dedicated Online Platforms) And The Equality And Rights For All (era) Community Of Practice. 8. Support High Quality Programming For Youth And Gender Equality In The Initiative, As Well As Coordinating The Implementation Of The Young Women’s Leadership Engagement In The Initiative. 9. Support Work With The Think Tanks Group On The Generation Of Cutting-edge Research, Knowledge Products, And Their Wide Dissemination For Policy Action. 10. Hone Key Messages For Media And Advocacy. Support High-profile Champions In Making The Case, Including Drafting Speeches And Op-eds By A Range Of Leaders. 11. Ensure That The Communications Of The Initiative Engage Young People And Support Young People Who Are The Protagonists In The Initiative, And That The Communications Of The Initiative Support And Reinforce Civil Society Movements’ Own Advocacy. 12. Support The Coordination Of The Unaids Knowledge Network On Education Plus. 13. Support The Construction And Maintenance Of A Virtual Repository Of Documents, Research, Case Studies And Guidelines On Education Plus. 14. Identify Innovative Opportunities And New Communications Tools And Platforms Which Can Serve To Highlight The Work Of The Education Plus Initiative. 15. Perform Other Related Tasks Of The Education Plus Initiative, As May Be Assigned. The Consultancy Starts On 01 February 2024 / Or Upon Finalization, For Eleven Months In Duration.
