The required prior work experience for the bidder includes having satisfactorily completed, as a principal contractor or subcontractor, certain similar works in the immediately preceding seven years prior to the publication of the Notice Inviting Tender (NIT). The specific requirements are: - One completed similar work costing not less than 25% of the estimated cost. - OR - Two completed similar works each costing not less than 15% of the estimated cost. - OR - Three completed similar works each costing not less than 10% of the estimated cost. Additionally, the bidder should have achieved, in any one year in the last five years, a minimum financial civil engineering construction turnover of 50% (as certified by a Chartered Accountant) of the estimated construction cost of the work. The turnover will be indexed at the rate of 10% per year. The bidder should also have completed works with a maximum value of civil engineering work executed in any one year during the last five years, updated to the price level of the last year at a rate of 10 percent a year. In terms of value and percentage of similar works completed, the bidder should have completed similar works with a value that allows them to meet the qualification criteria. For Joint Ventures, the available bid capacity of the JV should be more than the estimated contract value. The lead partner in a Joint Venture (JV) should meet not less than 50% of the qualification criteria, and each of the remaining partners in a JV should meet not less than 25% of the qualification criteria. The JV must collectively satisfy the criteria, with the relevant figures for each partner added together to arrive at the JV's total capacity, which should be 100% or more.
