Background In The Pacific, Climate Change, The Environment And Health Work Has Gained A Lot Of Recognition Over The Past Decade. More So As We Consider The Vulnerability To Extreme Weather Events And Sea Level Rise Of The Low-lying Islands Of The Pacific, Putting More Pressure On The Scarce Resources Of Many Islands. At The Centre Of This Struggle Are Some Isolated Islands And Remote Villages Of Fiji. Pacific Small Islands Developing States Comprise Many Fragile Ecosystems With Populations That Have Built Resilience To Different Environmental Adversities Including Impacts Of Climate Change. The Unprecedented Challenges Of Climate Change Today Are Overwhelming Our Small Islands Economically And Socially And Impacting Health. Pacific Health Ministers Have Agreed At The 12th Pacific Health Ministers Meeting (phmm) In 2017, For The Need To Address The Climate Change Crisis And This Urgency Was Reiterated At The 13th Phmm In French Polynesia In 2019. At The 13th Phmm, The Regional Director For Who-wpro Announced The Establishment Of Climate Change, The Environment And Health Platform To Be Based In Suva, Fiji. The Government Of Fiji Has Taken Regional And Global Leadership In Climate Change. Under The Leadership Of Fiji As Chair Of The Unfccc Conference Of Parties In 2017 (cop23), The Who Special Initiative For Climate Change And Health In Sids Was Launched. The Government Of Fiji Has Also Requested Who To Prepare A Special Report On Climate Change And Health And To Be Presented At Cop26. On May 6th, Fiji’s Minister For Health And Medical Services Launched The Adaptation Action Coalition (aac) Cop26 Ambition To Build Climate Resilient Health Systems, Working In Partnership With The World Health Organisation, This Important Initiative Focuses On Scaling Up Health In The Cop26 Agenda. Providing Evidence For Advocacy And Sharing Lessons Is At The Heart Of Capturing These Stories From Fiji To Be Shared At The Global Level. Fiji Is Currently Undertaking Various Adaptation And Mitigation Activities Aligned To Its National Adaptation Plan And So Has The Cchsap For The Activities Within The Health Sector. Seizing These Moments And Experiences From The Vulnerable And Affected Communities And Institutions Supports Advocacy And Learning. In Addition, It Provides The Information And Data That Contributes To The Science Of Climate Change While Urging Leaders To Seriously Discuss Health In Climate Change Forums.   Purpose/specific Objective Of The Activity In Collaboration With The Pacific Climate Change And Environment (pce) Team, Who Division Of Pacific Technical Support (dps), And The Government Of Fiji, Primarily The Ministry Of Health & Medical Services (mohms), The Consultant Will Develop Video(s) Underscoring The Health Impacts Of Climate Change In Fiji To Promote And Advocate For Inclusion Of Health As Central In The Climate Change Agenda.   Description Of Activities To Be Carried Out The General Objective Of Developing Video(s) Is To Underscore The Health Impacts Of Climate Change In Fiji, To Promote And Advocate For Inclusion Of Health As Central In Climate Change Agenda. The Specific Objectives Are: To Identify And Develop Stories Of Hcf And Communities Most Vulnerable To The Impacts Of Climate Change For Decision Making And Advocacy; To Highlight The Challenges And Opportunities In Implementing Cch Adaptation And Mitigation Strategies In Fiji; To Produce A 5-minute Consolidated Video From A Series Of Videos That Communicates The Information Collated From 3 Hcf And 3 Communities; To Explore Climate Change Perspectives In Fiji’s Management Of Covid-19 And The Road To Recovery From Covid-19; To Ensure The Videos Have Power To Influence Climate Change Agenda To Prioritize Health. The Work Required In This Tor Is Very Important In The Whole Process Of Government’s Approach Towards Building Climate Resilient Health Systems Through Advocacy And Evidence-based Work.  In Addition, This Work Contributes To The Cce Thematic Priority Of The For The Future Underscoring Support For; Advocacy; Building Resilience Into Health; And, Monitoring The Impact Of Cce On Human Health. Documenting Fiji’s Management Of Covid-19 And The Road To Recovery From Covid-19 Incorporating Climate Change Perspective Would Be Explored Too.   Methods To Carry Out The Activity Under The Supervision Of The Pce Team Coordinator Based In Who Office, Suva, Fiji, The Consultant Will Carry Out The Following Activities: The Consultant Selects 3 Hcf And 3 Communities To Work With (est. No. Of Days -5 Days); The Consultant Prepares And Submits A Workplan That Includes Processes Taken To Identify Hc And Community And Communication And Information Collection Techniques/method (conduct Desktop Review, Face To Face Interview With Key Informants, Focus Group, Mapping, Photographing, Reporting, Presentation) (est. No. Of Days -2 Day); The Consultant Conducts The Interviews And Photographing And Video Recording (est. No. Of Days -25 Days); The Consultant Is Expected To Prepare And Submit Progressive Reports Of The Progress Of Activities Which Are Submitted Every 14 Days Intervals (est. No. Of Days - 3 Days); The Consultant Is Expected To Prepare And Submit A Series Of Videos And Photos For Consideration By Who And Mohms And To Be Edited Where Required (est. No. Of Days - 15 Days); The Consultant Prepares A Report Which Is Submitted With The Final Video Product; (est. No. Of Days - 5 Days). Output 2: Interviews And Collection Of Photographs And Video Recordings In At Least 3 Hcf And 3 Communities (30 Days). Deliverable 2.1: Conducted The Interviews Of 3 Hcf And 3 Communities (13 Days); Deliverable 2.2: Conducted The Relevant And Photographing And Video Recording (14 Days); Deliverable 2.3: Submitted 3 Progressive Reports From The Field- Fortnightly (3 Days); Output 3: Developed Video And Outcome Report (20 Days). Deliverable 3.1: Completed Narratives And Storyboards (15 Days); Deliverable 3.2: Completed Video(s); Deliverable 3.3: Submission Of The Final Report (5 Days).   Qualifications & Experience Education Essential:  degree In Journalism Or Media With Video Production. Desirable: Training And Experience In Journalism Or Media With Video Production   Experience Essential: At Least Five Years Of Experience In Journalism And Video Recording Of Environmental Issues Such As Climate Change And Extreme Weather Events. Has Worked In The Pacific With Local And International Knowledge And Experience Desirable: Journalism And Video Production In Climate Change Adaptation And Mitigation Projects.   Technical Skills & Knowledge Specific Technical Knowledge Of Producing Communications Products For Advocacy With Skills In Climate Change Adaptation And Mitigation Planning And Implementation; Has General Knowledge The Impacts Of Climate Change On Health And Health Care Facilities And In Disaster Risk Management.
