The Government Of Newfoundland And Labrador (gnl) Group Insurance Program Covers Active And Retired Members From 34 Employers And Includes Public Sector Employees Across Various Government Departments And Agencies, A Range Of Community-based Organizations Including Hospitals, Seniors' Homes, Educational And Recreational Facilities And Members Of The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary. the Gnl Group Insurance Program (the Program) Represents Approximately $140 Million Dollars In Annual Premiums, Covering 28,848 Active Employees And 19,232 Retirees As Of August 2023. Including Dependents, The Total Insured Complement Is 86,000. all Benefits Are Currently Underwritten By Canada Life, The Insurer Since September 1, 2015. benefits Covered Under The Program Comprise Of Mandatory Benefits Including Basic Life, Dependent Life, Accidental Death And Dismemberment (ad&d), And Healthcare Coverage And Is Cost Shared On A 50/50 Employer/ Employee Basis. Long Term Disability (ltd), Dental, Optional Life, Optional Ad&d And Critical Illness Insurance Is Offered On A Voluntary, Fully Employee-paid Basis. the Province Is Seeking Proposals From Insurers Willing To Build A Long-term Partnership And Who Can Best Meet Its Needs, Delivering On The Key Areas Of Importance To Gnl Within Competitive Costs And Terms. more Specifically, Our Assessment Will Include A Focus On The Following: Plan Sponsor And Member Service And Experience; Compliance With The Current Plan Design (most Notably Adherence To Drug Management/ Adjudication And Financial Arrangements); Administration Systems/ Technology/ Innovation, And Reporting; And Cost Competitiveness (including Premium Rates, Retention Charges, Reserve Requirements, Pooling Charges And Interest Rate Basis On Cash Flow, And Reserves In Order To Ensure The Province Is Receiving The Best Value For Their Employee Benefit Expenditures.
