The Gmh | Gebäudemanagement Hamburg Gmbh is a municipal company which, among other things, provides construction, operation and management services for over 50 general education schools in the south of Hamburg (Wilhelmsburg and Harburg) as well as for university and municipal buildings. The “new building at the Geomatikum” construction project of the University of Hamburg is located on the property at Bundesstrasse 57, south of the “Beim Schlump – Bundesstrasse” traffic junction. The building extends parallel to the “Beim Schlump” street. The new building consists of a compact 7-storey polygonal institutional body, some of which have two basement floors, and is made up of three structures: east, middle and west. The building to the east at the intersection serves as the main entrance building with a building-high atrium for main access and contains mainly administration, office space, as well as a cafeteria and lecture rooms. The Min-Forum and IT project consists of two above-ground buildings on a shared basement floor. The gross floor area is around 43,000 m² in total. The space program is made up of central functions of the Min faculty (canteen, library, seminar rooms and lecture halls as well as offices), the Institute of IT and the central backup data center of the University of Hamburg.
