As Part Of The Planning Process For A Formal Procurement Exercise, Glasgow City Council (the Council) Is Keen To Engage With Registered Providers Of Shared Lives Services (sls), Or Providers Who Are Planning To Register To Deliver Sls With The Care Inspectorate By July 2025. The Sls (formerly Known As Adult Family Placements) Are To Be Developed And Provided In Or Near Glasgow, Be Delivered Predominantly Within The Shared Lives Carers Home, And Will Include The Following Elements: - Care And Support - Day Opportunities/employability Support And - Short Breaks/respite. Although Shared Lives Placements Currently Constitute Only A Very Small Proportion Of Support Arrangements For Adults Who Have Social Care Needs Funded By The Council, Based On The Positive Experience Of Glasgow Funded Service Users, The Council Believes That For Some, Sls Can Be An Excellent Alternative To Supported Living Or Residential Care. The Council Wishes To Work With Sls Providers To Gauge Provider Interest In Delivering Sls In And Around The Glasgow Area, Seek Provider Views On The Optimal Contractual Arrangements To Underpin Sls And Share Ideas In Relation To The Best Ways To Increase The Number Of Adults Who Are Able To Benefit From This Model Of Support.
