Soil contamination with Pfas was detected in the area of a fire training house and in the area of the fire station. Additional tests are to be carried out to check whether the pollutants have already reached the groundwater approx. 15 to 20 meters below the ground. The area on which the construction site is located is fenced in and partially sealed off by buildings and driveways. Other uses will take place on the site while the work is taking place. As part of the current investigation phase, the installation of two groundwater measuring points on the barracks site is planned (single measuring points). 4-hour short pumping tests are to be carried out at the groundwater measuring points to be set up. The site of the Major Karl Plagge barracks is a military security area. Personnel and vehicles must be registered to enter the site. Daily working hours are limited to 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The current list of services includes drilling and expansion work, rinsing and carrying out the pumping tests. The Facility Consists Of A Single-story Structural Steel Framed Hangar Bay With Full Span Trusses On A Cast-in-place Concrete Slab. Support Spaces Include A Single-story Shop Side With A Two-story Administration Side Constructed As A Steel Framed System, Including Restrooms And Lockers, Private Offices, Administrative Space, Breakroom And Fema Storm Shelter, And Hazardous Material Storage Space. The Hangar Bay Will Be Comprised Of A Standing Seam Metal Roof With The Support Areas Having A Low Slope Single Ply Membrane Roof. Special Deep Foundations Consisting Of Piers & Driven Piles Are Required.
