The required prior work experience for the bidder includes successfully completing or substantially completing similar works within the last 7 years. The similar works should have a value of at least 30% of the advertised value of the tender for three similar works, 40% for two similar works, or 60% for one similar work. In case of composite works, the tenderer must have completed or substantially completed any one of the following categories of work(s) during the last 7 years: three similar works each costing not less than 30% of the advertised value of each component of the tender, two similar works each costing not less than 40% of the advertised value of each component of the tender, or one similar work each costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of each component of the tender. For subcontractors, the required prior work experience is at least one work similar to the work proposed for subcontract, costing not less than 35% of the value of the work to be subletted, in the last 5 years. However, for subletting of work costing up to Rs 50 lakh, no previous work experience of the subcontractor is required. The value and percentage of similar works completed are as follows: - At least 30% of the advertised value of the tender for three similar works - At least 40% of the advertised value of the tender for two similar works - At least 60% of the advertised value of the tender for one similar work - At least 35% of the value of the work to be subletted for subcontractors The calculation of available bid capacity is also relevant, which is [A x N x 2] – 0.33xNxB, where: - A = Maximum value of construction works executed and payment received in any one of the previous three financial years or the current financial year - N = Number of years prescribed for completion of work for which bids have been invited - B = Existing commitments and balance amount of ongoing works with the tenderer The tenderer must have a minimum average annual contractual turnover of V/N or 'V' whichever is less; where V= Advertised value of the tender in crores of Rupees and N= Number of years prescribed for completion of work for which bids have been invited. The average annual contractual turnover shall be calculated as an average of “total contractual payments” in the previous three financial years, as per the audited balance sheet.
