Derry City And Strabane District Council Invite Suppliers To Tender For Peaceplus Our Present Past. This Project Is An Adult-based, Cross-community Dialogue Programme Exploring Any Aspect Or Combination Of Aspects Of The Past Relevant To Understanding Northern Ireland Today E.g. World War 1 And/or 2, And/or Colonialism, And/or Plantation And/or The Troubles And/or Peace Process. Topics Will Be Discussed In Interactive, Community Accessible Way To Adult Community Participants Who May (or May Not) Have Limited Formal Education And Limited/no Prior Knowledge. Creative Approaches To Learning And Site Visits Are Encouraged In Combination With More Structured Workshop-based Learning And Dialogue. 4 Cross-community Cohorts Of 25-30 Participants Across 1 Year – 18 Months (or Similar). This Project Is Under The Celebrating Cultures And Diversity Theme. Arising From The Co-design Process Across The District, This Project Should Strive To Bring Key Benefit Across The Entire Council Area Including Rural And Urban Areas. The Project Will Also Encourage Cross-border Participation. The Co-design Process Indicated A Need To Build On The Peaceiv Decade Of Centenaries Work And A Continued Interest In History. It Was Felt Vital To Include Dialogue-based Projects Based On The Principles Of Shared And Ethical Remembrance Which Engage With Potentially Contentious Issues In History And Which Challenge Thinking And Encourage Learning And Reflection.
